Data from SIBS Analytics show that between May 17th and 21st, marked by Coldplay concerts in Coimbra, the number of payments and withdrawals increased 28% compared to the same period last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Payments made by foreigner cards represented 38% of payments in the city of Coimbra between May 17th and 21st. A growth of 14 p.p. compared to the same period last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
84% of these payments were from national visitors and 16% from foreigners. Among national visitors, the cities of Lisbon (31%), Porto (17%), Aveiro (12%), Leiria (7%) and Braga (5%) stand out. On the other side, the foreigner visitors who stand out the most were the Spanish (35%), French and Brazilian (10%), North American (6%) and British (5%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Of the 28% total growth registered by SIBS Analytics, it is worth noting that the growth of resident payments was 5% while that of visitors was 105%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Noteworthy that digital payment methods continue to have an increasingly strong adoption. MB WAY had a 96% growth in the number of transactions compared to the same period last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a specific analysis of the catering and accommodation sector, payments growth 86% when compared to May 17 to 21, 2022. In restaurants, the increase was 87% while in accommodation, the evolution was 41%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Data collected by SIBS Analytics also shows that 77% of cards made transactions in a single day. Of the 23% of cards that made payments in more than one day, 57% stayed two days in town and 20% stayed more than five days. There were also those who stayed three days – 11% – 6% stayed four days and only 5% were in the city of Coimbra for five days.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
