{"id":2812,"date":"2023-08-09T14:46:09","date_gmt":"2023-08-09T14:46:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.sibsanalytics.com\/?p=2812"},"modified":"2023-08-09T14:49:05","modified_gmt":"2023-08-09T14:49:05","slug":"celebration-week-wyd-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sibsanalytics.com\/en\/news\/celebration-week-wyd-2023\/","title":{"rendered":"Celebration Week (WYD 2023)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In order to contribute to the identification of changes in the consumption habits of the Portuguese, in specific periods such as the World Youth Day (WYD), SIBS releases a set of indicators and aggregate data in an infographic format, in a clear and factual way, and with comparisons with previous periods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As you can see in the attached infographic, and based on data from SIBS Analytics , during WYD, that is, between first and sixth August 2023, the number of transactions with foreign cards in Districts with the largest number of pilgrims \u2013 Lisbon, Set\u00fabal and Santar\u00e9m \u2013 registered a growth of 40% compared to the same period of the previous year. At national level, this growth was 21%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In total transactions \u2013 foreign and national cards \u2013 SIBS Analytics registered an eight percent growth in the number of transactions at national level, and ten percent in the aforementioned Districts, during the period under analysis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">SIBS Analytics also reveals that, in terms of transactions\u2019 value, despite the variation being similar globally and in the districts, in terms of foreign cards this registered a growth of eight percent at national level and thirteen percent in the Districts of Lisbon, Set\u00fabal and Santar\u00e9m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The top 5 countries whose number of transactions grew the most in the aforementioned Districts, compared to the same period last year, were Mexico (+551%), Poland (+219%), Australia (+204%), Brazil (+92 %) and Italy (+91%). However, in absolute terms, France, Spain, USA, United Kingdom and Italy were, in that order, the 5 countries that carried out the most transactions during the period under analysis. The variation in the number of transactions considered the countries with the greatest expression in total transactions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Regarding the movement of Portuguese who traveled to the Districts of Lisbon, Set\u00fabal and Santar\u00e9m to participate in WYD, the districts that showed the greatest growth in the number of transactions compared to the same period last year are Braga (+31%), Portalegre (+ 23%), Viana do Castelo (+21%), Porto (+12%) and the Autonomous Region of the Azores (+12%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In order to contribute to the identification of changes in the consumption habits of the Portuguese, in specific periods such as the World Youth Day (WYD), SIBS releases a set of indicators and aggregate data in an infographic format, in a clear and factual way, and with comparisons with previous periods.
