As we can see in the attached infographics, online purchases are gaining an increased importance in the total of purchases – a trend that has been occurring, especially in the current pandemic context. On Black Friday, 27th of November, e-commerce registered a 10% increase in the total value, in euros, compared to 2019. Another indicator which confirms this growth is the weight that purchases in this channel (in €) gained in total purchases, which rose from 13% on Black Friday of 2019 to 16% in 2020.
The Portuguese also pay more and more with their mobile phone, both online and in store, where MB WAY is the preferred method, with its use increasing 3x in online purchases and almost 6x in physical purchases.
